• Please check your backpack, umbrella or any bag larger than 11 x 14 inches at the Visitor Services desk. If you prefer, lockers are provided free of charge for your convenience.
• Wheelchairs and strollers are available for your use. If you have a need, please ask.
• Have fun and explore the museum, but please refrain from touching art or objects on display. We are protecting it for future generations. Some items can be touched and will be noted in the galleries. Please remain an arm’s length away from the art/object or gallery walls.
• Food or drinks are allowed on the grounds, but not in the museum. If you have a medically necessary reason, please visit with our Guest Services staff.
• You may sketch and take notes (in pencil only) in the galleries.

Photography and Reproductions

Photography for personal use is generally permitted in the galleries (no flash photography, tripods, monopods or selfie sticks, please) and on the museum’s grounds. Please be mindful of other visitors. Look for this icon at gallery entrances or on artwork labels if photography is not permitted:

Some high quality reproductions of works in our collection are sold in the Museum Store. If you see a favorite, ask about it in the store.

Visiting the museum or participating in a program may result in the museum taking photographs or filming video of visitors for possible use in publicity.

*Please respect the photography policies posted throughout the museum. Some artwork and artifacts may be on loan from other museums, artists or private collectors, and may be protected by copyright law.

Visiting with Children

Gilcrease has three fun, interactive spaces that bring out the kid in every visitor. Whether you are trying to get in touch with your inner explorer, or you are spending time with children, be sure to stop in and visit the Creative Learning Center, Kids’ Site and the Kravis Discovery Center. All interactive spaces are open during regular museum hours.

Get Your SmART Cards

How “art” SmART are you? Find out by collecting our SmART Cards. Free and available on the card stand near the museum’s entrance, these cards ask questions, lead you to the featured piece in the galleries and give you fun facts you might not know. Collect them all!

Funday Sundays

The third Sunday of every month is Funday Sunday. It’s free admission all day, and an afternoon of museum fun with open art stations from noon to 4 p.m. Families may visit different art making stations in and around the museum and create to their hearts’ content. Each station will offer different materials and themes as well as teaching artists to help guide and inspire. Visitors are welcome to come and go from the open art stations as they experience the different galleries and interactive spaces in the museum and gardens.
