Usage

The University of Tulsa’s Web Sites and the Information and Services contained within are comprised of elements that are copyrighted, trademarked, or otherwise proprietary. All content, including text, graphics, logos, photos, audio, and video: as well as all structure, including navigation, layout, computer code, visual design, user interfaces, and information architecture (collectively, the “Content and Structure”): is the property of the University and/or respective Content and Structure originators. All subsequent Information and Services, as well as all subsequent University Web Sites, individually and collectively, are the property of The University of Tulsa and/or respective originators.

The user may make personal, non-commercial use of the University’s Web Sites. Such personal use is limited to routine activity designed to allow the user to read, print, view, listen to, and/or download with the intent to read, print, view, and/or listen to, Information and Services contained within the Web Sites.

With the exception of such personal use, the user may not otherwise download, modify, copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any of the Information and Services and/or Content and Structure of the Web Sites, or any portion of the same, in whole or in part, without the express consent of the University.

Techniques may not be utilized to enclose any portion of the Web Sites without the express consent of the University.  The right to create active hyperlinks to any portion of the Web Sites is granted, so long as the active hyperlinks and associated context do not portray the University and/or related originators in a false, offensive, derogatory, or otherwise misleading manner.

RSS

Some University Web Sites offer Information and Services via RSS. The right to subscribe to RSS Information and Services is granted to the user for personal, non-commercial use. Such personal use is limited to routine activity designed to allow the user to read, print, view, listen to, and/or download with the intent to read, print, view, and/or listen to, RSS- and/or audio and video-enabled Information and Services contained within the Web Sites.

With the exception of such personal use, the user may not otherwise download, modify, copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any of the RSS- and/or audio or video-enabled Information and Services and/or Content and Structure of the Web Sites, or any portion of the same, in whole or in part, without the express consent of the University.

User Association with the University

User association with the University such as with users who are members of the University administration, faculty, staff, student body, alumni, or similar audiences: does not grant any use of the Web Sites beyond those articulated in the Terms.

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

THE UNIVERSITY DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE UNIVERSITY’S WEB SITES WILL BE AVAILABLE UNINTERRUPTED, NOR THAT THE WEB SITES WILL BE ERROR FREE. THE UNIVERSITY MAKES NO WARRANTY AS TO THE RESULT OF USE OF THE UNIVERSITY’S WEB SITES, NOR TO THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR SUBSTANCE OF ANY INFORMATION AND SERVICES OFFERED THROUGH THE WEB SITES.

THE UNIVERSITY’S WEB SITES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY. THE UNIVERSITY DISCLAIMS TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW ALL WARRANTY, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR USE OF A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NONINFRINGEMENT OF PROPRIETARY RIGHTS. THE UNIVERSITY DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTIES WITH REGARD TO THE SECURITY, RELIABILITY, TIMELINESS, AND PERFORMANCE OF THE UNIVERSITY’S WEB SITES. THE UNIVERSITY, ITS TRUSTEES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES AND OTHER REPRESENTATIVES SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, DIRECT, INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, COMPENSATORY, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE USE OF THE UNIVERSITY’S WEB SITES.

The University reserves the right to modify the Terms at any time.  The user is responsible for regularly reviewing the Terms.

Social Media Terms of Use


Gilcrease Museum welcomes the ability to network and engage with visitors, staff, friends and fans on social media. Through a network of social media platforms to include, but are not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and any other external social media platforms, we establish an ongoing positive conversation with the community and a dynamic and accessible web presence.

Gilcrease Museum strongly encourages the strategic integration of any digital media platform that can help achieve the objectives of the institution and facilitate communication. Our goal is to connect with the Gilcrease family and provide updates about the museum. We encourage the expression of opinions and discussion of those topics which surround our great museum. Users should respect the views of others, even if they disagree.

The Office of Marketing and Communications shall oversee Gilcrease Museum’s presence on digital media platforms. Gilcrease Museum reserves the right to moderate any and all content. Content and images will be removed if it violates any of the following criteria:

  • Obscene, pornographic, defamatory, racist, excessively violent, threatening, bullying or otherwise objectionable or injurious
  • Personal attacks on other users, Gilcrease Msueum staff or the museum itself
  • Harassing, threatening, insulting, defaming or bullying another person or entity
  • Containing illegal activity
  • Advertisements, political or fundraising solicitations, spam or copyright/trademark infringement
  • Off-topic posts inappropriate for the forum

Gilcrease Museum reserves the right, at our discretion, to remove any post or to revoke a user’s privilege to post to our digital media platforms. Comments and images posted by others do not reflect the opinions of Gilcrease Museum.

This social media policy is subject to change at the discretion of Gilcrease Museum.
