On the first Saturday of the month, children ages 5-10 will explore and learn about a Gilcrease exhibition and create a related art project in the studio. Make both decorative and utilitarian seasonal sculptures that you can treasure for years to come or share as gifts. Explore a variety of clay hand-building techniques under the tutelage of Gilcrease ceramics aficionado and museum educator Nathan Huebert. This program is appropriate for all ages and is free with museum admission. Children must be accompanied by adults. No reservations are required and visitors can stay for as little or as long as they would like.

Crystal Making Workshop and Nature Walk with Tyler Thrasher

Join us for an afternoon with local artist and crystal-maker extraordinaire Tyler Thrasher. In this three-hour workshop, Thrasher will lead participants on a nature walk of the grounds and hunt for crystallizable objects. Participants will then head inside for a crystal-making session as Thrasher teaches how to crystallize the objects found on the walk with chemistry and simple engineering.
