The Helmerich Center for American Research is open by appointment only, Monday through Friday, from 9:00am – 4:30pm. To request to conduct research at the Helmerich Center, please submit the online form found here. To read our current Researcher’s Guide to the Helmerich Center, please click here.
Requests for access and use will be reviewed and approved by an interdepartmental internal committee. Please allow at least 4 weeks after request submission to receive a response. Requests with a shorter timeframe may be considered when possible. If support from an affiliated community is required, please note that the timeframe before approval will likely extend if your initial request does not include a letter of support.
A letter of support from a designated representative of an affiliated Indigenous community is required for access to and use of items, images, and associated information that may hold cultural significance to an Indigenous individual or community, and may be directly connected to ancestral heritage, family, cultural tradition, and/or spirituality.
