Spring Break Art Camp

March 14 – 18, 2016
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. & 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
5 – 6 years old at Gilcrease Museum
7 – 12 years old at the Henry Zarrow Center for Art and Education

Half-Day Classes Monday-Friday: $100 Gilcrease members; $125 not-yet members
All-Day Classes Monday-Friday: $200 Gilcrease members; $250 not-yet members

Celebrate spring break week with creative art activities that inspire young artists. Morning and/or afternoon week long classes are available for children ages 5-12 years old. Sign up for half day sessions for the week or bring a sack lunch and stay all day. Extended afternoon hours until 5:00 are available for $5 per day per child.

Spring Break will conclude with a Student Art Show and Reception on Friday for both morning and all-day or afternoon students.

Gilcrease Museum Program Description

5 – 6 years old

9:00 a.m. – Noon
2D Garden Discoveries
Instructor: Allison Lackner
Explore the sights and sounds of the spring gardens at Gilcrease. Have fun learning to make fantastic images through etchings, prints, drawings, paintings and collages inspired by the colors and textures of nature.

1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
3D Recycle This!
Instructor: Allison Lackner
Let imaginations soar as students use a variety of materials, both found and recycled, to create different sculptures and 3 dimensional art. Find inspiration from the gardens and galleries of Gilcrease.

Zarrow Center Program Descriptions

7 – 9 years old

9:00 a.m. – Noon
Mix it UP
Instructor: Martha Highland
Discover the colorful world of art and get a taste of it all in this class packed with fun art activities. Explore a large variety of different art materials to create paintings, print-making, collages and 3-D papier-mache works of art.

1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Spring Into Art
Instructor: Katie Cealka
Burst into spring with a variety of fun art projects in this class. Create creepy bugs, paint huge Georgia O’Keefe style flowers and make 3-D sculptures using recycled materials inspired by spring.

10 – 12 years old

9:00 a.m. – Noon
Art in Nature
Instructor: Judy McIntosh
Celebrate spring time by exploring shapes, colors and patterns in nature. Discover how artists use nature for inspiration in creating original works of art with many types of materials.

1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Multimedia Art
Instructor: Jennifer Van Patten
Experience both 2D and 3D art in this exciting class that covers plaster sculptures, wire figures, Mondrian inspired abstract art and oil pastel creations.

Camp Cancellation & Refund policy

Cancellations received more than two weeks before the start date of a class will result in a full refund. Cancellations received less than two weeks before the start date of a class, will not be eligible for a refund.
